Back at it again!

Around September of last year, I ran full steam into a season of life that many of us have. This season involved my wife becoming pregnant (due in June 2013!), cramming classes to finish my Master's degree, and entering a 6 month studying session to prepare for and take the CPA exams. I can truly say that this was one of the most trying seasons of my life, and having taken the last CPA exam 3 days … [Read more...]

Passion – Building a Sustainable Lifestyle

Friday again... the day when I take a step back from the details and work of the week to gain a better perspective on where I am and where I am going. Hopefully this will help you take that step back as well to examine your life and work and determine whether or not you are heading in the direction you desire. I will discuss refining and defining your passion into something you can … [Read more...]

Link – Dave Kraft: A Job or Calling?

I will throw links to other articles and resources out there from time to time from the various blogs and sources that I follow. I would like to link to a thought-provoking blog by Dave Kraft called A Job or Calling?. In the blog he differentiates between a "job" and a "vocation" with the latter being what you are called, gifted, and passionate about doing. It was a good reminder to me to keep … [Read more...]

Passion – Where to start

So today is the end of my week - a week that has been full of the flu, wrapping up some tough loose ends, and overall pretty tough. But I left this topic for the end of the week knowing that some weeks would be tough and that I need a lighter, more uplifting topic to finish things out for the week. So my topic today, as with all this week, is where to start. Today is where to start to find your … [Read more...]

Employee to Entrepreneur – My Story

I would like to take this post to let you know what brought me here... to answer some of the questions I posed to you in my last post. My hope is that my own journey from Employee to Entrepreneur resonates with you and we find our paths crossing in the weeks and months ahead. Why have I chosen this road? As I have quoted before and is at the top of this web site, I quote again: Ah, but a man's … [Read more...]
